Yes, within the toolbar, there is a button to invert colors on the screen. If you click on this button all the white colors will be inverted to black. Not just the white colors, but all the images will be inverted as well (which may degrade the aesthetic aspect for images).

6. Can I have more than one detached panel (with messenger UI rendered in)?

No, you can only have one detached window. Every time you click on the toolbar button, the window will be focused, if it is open. If not, it opens a new window. Moreover, once you click on the detached button, the current popup window will be closed and a new tab will be open with the messenger page.

7. What happens when I read a message within this extension?

When you read the message, it will be marked as read in both "Password Lock for Messenger™" and any other Messenger pages (open tabs or mobile device).

8. Does Messenger synchronizes among all my devices?

Yes, Facebook Messenger is automatically synchronizes among all your devices where messenger dot com is open.

9. How can I enable or disable password protection feature?

You can enable or disable password protection from the right-click context menu of the toolbar button. If you already have a password, it is required to enter the password to modify the protection state. For users without a password, toggling the feature on and off is a simple process. It's important to note that the extension's old users do not have password protection enabled by default, but they can activate this new feature (introduced in version 0.2.0) through the context menu.
