  • People use proxy software for all sorts of reasons. Some believe it protects their privacy as they can surf the internet anonymously while for others it makes for a way to browse blocked websites. Irrespective of the reason, using a standalone proxy software on your PC could be a hassle. Some software tend to slow down the system while annoying pop-ups appear out of nowhere in case of the use of certain proxy websites that make them difficult to browse. Browse in Tor™, a browser extension, aims to put an end to all these woes related to the use of a proxy software/website. Continue reading its in-depth review to know whether it remains true to its claim or not!

Browse in Tor™ allows users to easily explore different websites using TOR proxy rather conveniently. It is a lite addon that uses TOR connectivity. The most prominent feature of this extension is that not all the websites open in a browser are surfed using the proxy. The user can add a list of websites that they want to browse using a proxy and Browse in Tor™ uses a proxy for them only. Rest of the websites use the regular connection the user has. To enter the websites or links a user wants to surf using TOR, all they have to do is to click the extension icon on their taskbar (which will appear after they have installed it) and enter the websites in the designated space. Multiple websites can be added to use proxy by separating them with a comma. Once the websites have been added, they will have to click on the - Connect to TOR Proxy - button and they will be able to safely surf those websites. This saves them the hassles of using a proxy for all the tabs opened. This extension is available for both Chrome & Opera browser. The icon of the extension on the toolbar changes its color when it is switched ON, giving a clear indication of the user if it is in use. It is important to note that, Browse in Tor™ extension requires the PC to establish a connection with the TOR network. For this purpose, the user is required to install a separate patch on their system which is available on the GitHub link provided by the developer. Although a one-time process, but it might be a complex task for beginner users. Overall, this extension definitely provides utility to the users; it may require users to have a bit of knowledge on softwares though. It is better than other means of using the proxy as it doesn’t slow down the PC or annoying pop-ups that often contain malwares or unwanted software. Therefore, it can be used for safe browsing on your PC. The extension is lightweight; therefore, the browser doesn’t become sluggish if it is installed. You can safely download it and use it as per your convenience to surf the websites of your choice anonymously.
