1. What is Color Picker?
Color Picker is handy addon that let you easily search for your desired color from an stylish popup. Simply click on the toolbar icon to view the UI. Once the UI is shown you will see a popup with 4 different sections. On the top, there is a toolbar with 3 buttons. In the middle, there is a big icon (color-palette icon) which can be used to render the native color picker UI. Click on this icon in order to pick a new color. Please note that, depending on your browser and OS, the native color picker UI may vary significantly. Once you chose a color, the table on the right-side will be updated with color values in 6 different formats (each format will be explained in the following FAQs). At the bottom of the UI, you will see a table with all selected colors in circles. If you click on a circle, the current color will change to the selected circle color. Moreover, if you want to delete all circles, pleased press on the - Clear History - button at the top toolbar.
2. How can I work with Color Picker addon?
Working with this addon is very easy. Simply click on the toolbar icon to view the color picker UI. Then, click on the color palette icon to see the native picker. Choose a color in the picker and then click on the OK button. The selected color will be added to the color table. In order to copy the current color value to the clipboard, please click on a value from the right-hand-side table within the UI. The value will be copied to the clipboard automatically. A notification popup will also show you the selected color.
3. How can I download the source code for Color Picker?
To download the source code for this extension from Chrome Web Store, it is recommended to use Extension Source Downloader. With this addon, you can download the source code as a ZIP or CRX format to your machine. If you want to download the source code from the Firefox addons store, please open the firefox download link (if available) in the Firefox browser and then right-click on the - Add to Firefox - button and select - Save Link As... - item. Choose the destination folder on your machine and then save the file in XPI format. You can then rename the XPI format to a RAR or ZIP file. 4. What color values are available within the popup?
Each color value is available in 6 different formats. The first format is the standard HEX format (i.e. #B827B3). Next color format is RGB, which is the standard color format based on 3 colors of red, green and blue. HSL is the third format available in the popup. This format is build based on hue, saturation and lightness values for each color. Similarly, there is HSB color format which stands for hue, saturation, and brightness. There is also HWB color format in the UI, which stands for a cylindrical-coordinate representation of RGB color model. The last color format is CMYK color value which is a subtractive color model, used in color printing. CMYK refers to the 4 colors used in some color printing: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black.
5. Is there any options or settings available for this addon?
No, this addon has no options or settings to adjust. Everything needed is available within the main popup UI.
6. How can I clear all the colors added in the popup?
In order to clear the color history, please click on the - Clear History - button in the popup UI. Please note that, once you clear all the history, you won’t be able to retrieve the saved colors back. So please make sure you do NOT need the history before clearing it.
