Custom Dark Mode is a browser add-on that helps you design your own dark mode for the web. Simply open toolbar popup UI and then adjust the color settings. All the settings are auto saved to the memory in toolbar popup. There is also a (+/-) button with you can use to whitelist desired domains from dark mode. Please note that, at the current version of the add-on, there is no option to see the whitelist table. You can only add or remove websites from toolbar popup UI. In order to turn the dark mode ON or OFF, you can use the big torch button at the top center.
2. How can I work with this add-on?
In order to work with this addon, simply open toolbar popup and then click on the big torch button at the top center. Once the button turns to dark grey (combined with yellow color), the addon is active. Please note that, default state is OFF when you first install the addon. If you like to adjust the dark colors, please use the sliders and color pickers provided in the popup. All changes are auto saved to the memory. Please note that, this addon is not working properly for some websites, and this is due to the nature of dark mode colors which may not fit correctly to all platforms. In this case, please add the websites to the whitelist by pressing on the (+) button. Like-wise, in order to remove a website from whitelist, please press on the (-) button. There is also a reset button at the top right corner which you can use to reset all settings to the default factory values. Please note that, this operation is irreversible.
3. How can I download the source code for Custom Dark Mode?
To download the source code for this extension from Chrome Web Store, it is recommended to use Extension Source Downloader. Since the Opera browser does not allow manipulating the new tab page, Dark New Tab add-on is not currently working for Opera. Please note that this addon is only affecting the new tab page in your browser, and does not have any impact on other pages.
5. How do I turn the extension OFF?
In order to turn the addon OFF, please click on the big torch button in toolbar popup UI. When the icon turns to light grey, dark mode is off and when it turns to dark gray and yellow, dark mode is active.
6. How to add a domain to the whitelist?
In order to add a specific domain to the whitelist, please open toolbar popup UI and then press on the plus button at the middle left side. Likewise, in order to remove the domain, please press on the minus button next to the plus sign. As mentioned above, currently there is no option to view the whitelist within the popup.
7. How can I change dark mode styles (theme)?
There are a variety of settings available in toolbar popup to adjust dark modes. For example, you can change the background color, font color, etc. Simply find the HTML element which you would like to adjust the color, then click on the color area (HEX color box). A color picker will show up which helps you to choose desired colors. Then, adjust the next slider which is designed for color density. All the changes are auto saved to the memory.
8. Is this extension available for mobile firefox (Firefox for android)?
Yes, this addon is available for all browsers and platforms including mobile Firefox and Opera browsers.
9. How can I disable this add-on?
In order to disable the add-on, simply click on the big power button at the toolbar popup (top section) to turn the add-on OFF (note: in the inactive mode, toolbar icon turns to light grey). Alternatively, you can visit extensions page in your browser and click on the disable button next to the add-on name to permanently disable the addon.
10. How can I remove a website from the whitelist?
As mentioned above, simply browse to a website which you would like to remove, then press on the (-) button in toolbar popup UI.

No, unfortunately whitelisting is only available through popup UI. Currently, context-menu item is not available, but in future versions it will be added.

Yes, you can easily reload the active tab by pressing on the reload button at the top left corner in toolbar popup UI.
