Frequently Asked Questions

  • 1. What is Firewall Lite?

Firewall Lite is a multi-browser Addon for your browser to block annoying contents, banners and more. It works based on two methods. The first is using CSS (HTML styling language) to hide the annoying contents. This is a fast and instant method to block all the annoying contents. There are two methods to work when CSS is active, the first one is to hide the contents and second one is to highlight all of them. Once you highlight them, it will show them with a red border and yellow background. So all these contents are thoroughly visible in the screen. For the second method, the Addon uses web-request monitoring tools to block targeted URLs. This works by checking each URL against a pre-defined list of black-listed URLs. If a URL matched this list, it will be blocked from loading. This method completely blocks all annoying contents and scripts. However, since the validation process imposes a big work-load to your machine, it may speed-down the browser to some extent. The Lite method uses CSS, and Full method uses web-request to block annoying contents. If both these methods are active, you wont see any annoying contents at all.
