    Flash Blocker Strict is a browser addon that helps you easily block all flash elements within a website. Simply click on the toolbar icon (which serves as a toggle button) to turn the addon ON or OFF. When the addon is active, no flash content will be loaded in your browser. Badge icon text shows the number of blocked flash items. If you want to whitelist a domain from blocking, simply click on the toolbar icon to turn the addon OFF (icon is green when it is OFF). You can now reload the page to allow all flash contents. Alternatively, you can add any desired domain to the whitelist table. In order to do so, please right-click on the toolbar icon (in Chrome and Opera browsers), or anywhere inside the page (in all browsers), then select the - Exclude from flash blocker - item in the context menu. This way, the website will be added to the whitelist (please open options page to edit the whitelist). Now, reload the page to see all flash contents. Please note that toolbar icon will turn to green color when the website is whitelisted.

    As mentioned above, toolbar icon serves as ON|OFF switch. Simply click on it to turn the addon off. When icon is red all flash elements will be blocked and when it turn to green, everything is allowed. Please note that, when the icon is green (addon is OFF) no badge icon will be shown.

  • 3. How can I download the source code for Flash Blocker Strict?

    To download the source code for this extension from Chrome Web Store, it is recommended to use Extension Source Downloader. With this addon, you can download the source code as a ZIP or CRX format to your machine. If you want to download the source code from the Firefox addons store, please open the firefox download link (if available) in the Firefox browser and then right-click on the - Add to Firefox - button and select - Save Link As... - item. Choose the destination folder on your machine and then save the file in XPI format. You can then rename the XPI format to a RAR or ZIP file. Some extensions may have a GitHub repo address, which you can use to download the source code as well. But, it may not be the latest version of the addon.     In order to allow flash for a domain (whitelisting a website) there are two options available. The first option which is available in all browsers is the in-page context-menu item. Simply right-click within a page and then click on - Exclude from flash blocker - item in context-menu. The website will be added to the whitelist. The second option is only available in Chrome and Opera browsers. If you have these two browsers, please right-click on the toolbar icon and then click on the - Exclude from flash blocker - in context-menu to whitelist the current domain. Please note that, only domain for the active tab will be whitelisted. Since Firefox browser does not have right-click context-menu, this option is not available for Firefox at the moment.

  • 5. Does Flash Blocker Strict has options page.?

    Yes, this addon has a very simple whitelisting feature in the options page. In order to add a specific domain to the whitelist, please add the desired domain to the designated area. Instead of a domain, you can add a URL to the input area as well, and the addon will automatically converts it to domain. Please note, all domains must be comma separated (i.e. domain_1.com, domain_2.com, domain_3.com, etc.). Likewise, when you remove a domain from the whitelist area, the addon will block flash again and the toolbar icon will turn to red color.

  • 6. Can I whitelist a website with regular expressions?

    No, unfortunately regular expressions are not supported yet. Currently, whitelisting is only possible with hostnames. Please note that you cannot whitelist a URL alone, once you enter a URL in the whitelist area the addon will convert it back to domain and Flash will be allowed for the whole domain.

  • 7. Is this addon available for mobile version of Firefox or other browsers?

    No, currently this addon is only available for desktop browsers (Chrome and Opera and Firefox). In future versions we will release it for safari and mobile browsers as well.
