1. What is Grammar Checker (Offline)?
Grammar Checker (Offline) addon lets you easily check American English grammar for any input text. Simply open the app interface and write or paste a text; you can also drag a .txt file into the textarea on the right side. Wait for the app to perform the grammar check and see the grammar suggestions on the right side. For a reasonable-length text, the time required to perform the check is usually around a few seconds. You can review each grammar suggestion and either Accept or Dismiss an item. This extension uses the Harper.js core to perform the grammar check. 3. How can I download the source code for Grammar Checker (Offline)?
To download the source code for this extension from Chrome Web Store, it is recommended to use Extension Source Downloader. With this addon, you can download the source code as a ZIP or CRX format to your machine. If you want to download the source code from the Firefox addons store, please open the firefox download link (if available) in the Firefox browser and then right-click on the - Add to Firefox - button and select - Save Link As... - item. If you click on an item, you will see a description of the suggested error; there are two options to deal with each error. You can either Accept or Dismiss the suggestion. There is also an option to accept all suggestions at once; to do this please press the - accept all - button at the top toolbar on the right side.
5. Does this app need an internet connection to run the grammar checker?
No, as mentioned above, this app does NOT need an internet connection to perform the grammar check. It only relies on its core engine which is placed inside the app package and does not need any other tools. So, if you are concerned about your privacy and security for any grammar checker, this app is the best tool for you.
6. How can I copy the final result once the grammar checks are done?
Once all the grammar checks are finished and you want to copy the final result, please press the - copy - button on the top toolbar. All the text will be copied to the clipboard and you can paste it to a new text file. You can also select the text with a mouse or press Ctrl+A on the textarea to select all the text. Then right-click and press - Copy - from the context menu or Ctrl+C to copy the text to the clipboard.
7. How can I disable this add-on?
If you want to permanently disable the addon, please head to the extensions tab in your browser and then click on the disable button.
8. Can I check grammar for languages other than English?
No, unfortunately, Harper.js currently only supports the American English language. In the future, it may add support for other languages. Once this happens this extension will be updated as well.
9. Why for some text, the Grammer results are not readable?
The Grammer check engine is still a work in progress, therefore, you might see some bugs when working with this addon. Moreover, depending on the input text, the results may vary. In the future, when these limitations are eliminated in the Grammar engine, this addon will be updated accordingly.
10. Can I use a different Grammer check engine?
No, currently this addon only supports - Harper.js - grammar engine. As mentioned above, this is one of the best grammar checker engines available. According to our tests, it has the best results compared to other Grammar check software.
