  • 1. What is Hit the dot?

    Hit the dot is a fun and easy to use speed test game. Simply click on the start|stop button to start the game. Once you see an orange dot, just hit on it with the mouse. Continue this operation until allowed time is over (30 seconds). Within this period, hit as many dots as you can. Scoring is based on the number of correct hits. 1 point per hit, and minus 1 point per miss. Default grid size is 6 by 10, but you can change the size at any time to your desired choice. Please note that, if you increase the grid size, time to hit dots will increase and your score will decrease accordingly.

  • 2. How to play the game?

    Click toolbar button to open game UI. Then press on the start button. Once you see an orange circle button, click on it. Orange circles are created randomly by the addon. For each correct hit, you will get one point and for each miss hit, you will get minus one point. Try to hit as many orange dots as you can. Total point, is the sum of correct and incorrect hits.

  • 3. How can I download the source code for Hit the dot?

    To download the source code for this extension from Chrome Web Store, it is recommended to use Extension Source Downloader. With this addon, you can download the source code as a ZIP or CRX format to your machine. If you want to download the source code from the Firefox addons store, please open the firefox download link (if available) in the Firefox browser and then right-click on the - Add to Firefox - button and select - Save Link As... - item.   • 5. How can I hit on the dots?

    Just use your mouse (left click) to hit on the dots. Currently this game is only available for desktop browsers, therefore, touch is not implemented yet. But in future versions touch enabled devices will be supported as well.

  • 6. How can I increase the grid size?

    In order to increase the grid size, type-in desired values in the designated areas. Please note that, minimum value is 2 for width or height. Default grid size is 6 by 10.

  • 7. Is there an option to reset the best score?

    No, currently there is no option to reset the best score field. The best score field is set automatically by the addon.

  • 8. How to uninstall this extension from your Firefox?

    In order to uninstall this Addon in Firefox, go to Firefox -> Add-ons -> Hit the dot, then press on the Uninstall button. For Opera and Chrome browsers, follow a similar approach to remove the Addon.
