1. What is App for IW?

App for IW is the easiest way to open and use Instagram from your desktop machine (PC, MAC or Linux). Clicking on the toolbar button, renders Instagram UI in a standalone UI. Moreover, the window is re-sizable to your desired choice. Note, to start using this App, you need to have an instagram account. Simply click on the toolbar icon to open Instagram in a simple popup window. Once the UI is closed all background activities are halted. You can adjust the window size from addon options page. Default values for width and height are 700 pixels.

2. Why App for IW is a lite addon?

App for IW is designed to operate similarly to Chrome apps. In other words, it opens in a simple and stand-alone popup window (as opposed to the toolbar-popup or sidebar), and once closed, completely clears-off and will not have any further background activities. Having this behavior, it is considered a very lite addon and does not add any additional burden to your browser.

3. How can I download the source code for App for IW?

To download the source code for this extension from Chrome Web Store, it is recommended to use Extension Source Downloader. With this addon, you can download the source code as a ZIP or CRX format to your machine. If you want to download the source code from the Firefox addons store, please open the firefox download link (if available) in the Firefox browser and then right-click on the - Add to Firefox - button and select - Save Link As... - item. Choose the destination folder on your machine and then save the file in XPI format. You can then rename the XPI format to a RAR or ZIP file. Some extensions may have a GitHub repo address, which you can use to download the source code as well. But, it may not be the latest version of the addon. Therefore, downloading the source code from the official web stores is the best option as it always gives you the latest version of the addon.

4. Can I change the window size and store it to the memory?

Yes, please open the Options page and adjust the values for width and height from there. Please note that all changes are auto-saved to the memory. Default values for width and height are 700 pixels.

5. Does this addon provide any badge icon text?

No, this addon does not have notifications. It is just designed to gain you easy access to your Instagram page.

6. Can I have more than one detached panel (with Instagram page rendered in)?

No, you can only have one detached window. Every time you click on the toolbar button, the window will be focused, if it is already open. If not, a new window will be opened.

7. When I click on the toolbar button, can I make the popup attached to the toolbar button?

No, currently there is no way to attach the popup to the toolbar button. This extension is designed to operate similar to chrome apps which open a standalone and detached panel.

8. Is App for IW the same as my Instagram page?

Yes, App for IW renders exactly your Instagram webpage. In other words, it just opens your Instagram page in a standalone and simple UI.

9. Does this addon have any settings or options to adjust?

Yes, as mentioned above, there is an Options page designed to adjust extensions window size (width & height). Please note that all changes are auto-saved to the memory in the Options page.

10. Is this addon available for mobile browsers?

Yes, this addon is availble for desktop and mobile browsers if they support extensions. For example, currently mobile firefox supports addons.
