Once you have added this extension to your browser, you can choose the tweaks you like. All you have to do is open the toolbar popup and click on the tweaks you want to enable. Not all the tweaks will be enabled (depending on your OS or browser version). By default, safe browsing, block flash content, and block malware domains are enabled. Other tweaks are related to inline-script, JavaScript, and cookies. There is also a whitelist and an ON|OFF switch as well. You can add sites to the whitelist that are safe. For these sites, all the 7 tweaks will be disabled. The first tweak listed in toolbar popup is blocking the most common ads. It is one of many reasons why your browser slows down. These ads run redundant JavaScripts that will put your security at risk. Second tweak will block the third-party JavaScript URLs. However, you can make some exceptions in the Settings and allow some JavaScript URLs. You must keep in mind that some sites will not perform well when you enable this tweak. The next tweak is related to safe-browsing. With this, your browser and information is much safer. This is because the browser will notify you about malicious websites. The fourth tweak is useful for blocking cookies. Cookies can be a source of security threat; when you block the cookies, you have a better privacy and security. The fifth tweak will block inline scripts, so there will be no threat to your security. The sixth tweak will block flash contents while tweak 7 will block the most common malware URLs. It is important to note that tweaks 3 & 4 are only available for Chrome and Opera browsers. Nonetheless, Security Tweaks is a great way to increase your safety while browsing the internet. These techniques will even enhance your experience and increase the speed of the browser. This is the perfect choice if you are looking for a lite addon that will provide you best of both worlds, will keep the browser fast and secure.
