Working with this addon is very easy. Simply add it to your browser and open gmail inbox. If gmail is already open, please reload it for the addon to take effect. If you want to hide icons, please disable the addon and reload gmail again.

No, this addon does not accept custom icons. All the icons are derived from domain addresses in sender email addresses.

Yes, it works for both new and old gmail UI. However, currently it is not working for inbox.google.com. In future, support for this website will be added.
8. How does this addon fetch sender icons?
This addon uses favicon JavaScript API from google: google.com/s2/favicons?domain=test.com. In this API, you need to set domain address (i.e. test.com) in order to get related icon. Please note that, for complex domain names (i.e. foo1.foo2.com) the addon may not be able to get the correct icon.
